What the hell is a jumper setting?

Hey guys I was trying to install the PSI IIC card reader and I had no luck
so i searched it up on mpc-forums and al the posts are talking about jumper settings. Im just wondering if anyone has a link to a faq abut jumper settings for that particular card. I actually got it because Lampdog posted it as a working card reader butits a pain to install also i was reading that i need v 1.20 to work with 1 gb sandisk compact flash cards is that true thanks.

Connect a plastic piece just like in the picture, try 1, 2, and 3 settings like in the picture and see if it works.

Yeah, its a really super small piece of plastic that is connected to a set of pins on the rear of your drive (ie Hard Drive, CD/DVD ROM Drive etc...). I had a problem with a hard drive a few weeks ago and it was actually a jumper setting. They are used so that your computer/gear knows in which order to boot up or read a specific drive.

does anyone know the jumper settings for the psIIc card reader jumper settings I've seen a few people got it to work and where can I get the plastic peice for the jumper settings?

Lampdog my card reader looks nothing like that it does'nt have the 6 pins only the 44 pin or 40 pin. I really just need a little help.

LOOK AROUND FOR THE JUMPER!

The specs says there is a jumper, so look for it....
Try setting it for master or slave, stop guessing and confusing yourself, just do that part and see what happens.
