Lost communication

Hey Peeps,

I have an mpc 2500 & a motif rack es both using the midi ports on my yamaha 01x mixer.
The problem is I used to be able to play the sounds in the motif rack and record into mpc 2500 without making any cable reconnections, but some how this has been lost and now they dont talk to each other which has really pissed me off.

My mixer is yamaha 01x and I did some form of port rewiring in Cubase 4.12 because i could not get any sound out when extracting audio from a cd which i somehow managed to fix (dont ask me how).

I really dont know what i did but could someone help me out here please, have I disconnected / not connected a midi port or something or is it something else.
for reference the motif rack es is plugged into Midi port A, mpc 2500 into midi port B on the 01x but they just dont / wont talk to each other

Anyone using an 01x mLan mixer?

MIDI the ES rack to the MPC.

Hey...You've got the same rack as I do so you may be able to help me with this. How do you layer sounds? (ie. Create your own sounds) And once that's done, how do you actually use them in a multi-perfomance?

COuld be you have activated / deactivated midi thru somewhere in the chain
