Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

Hey all,

Just bought myself an mpc500 and the e-book from here and am loving it so far!!

Just one question - I just upgraded my OS from 1.11 to the 1.13 off the akaipro site as the ebook suggested. it's completed the upgrade and I've switched it off, waited thirty seconds then switched it back on holding down "erase" like the instructions on the site say.

When I connect to my computer using usb I can see the new "mpc500.bin" file in the root directory (first folder) - can I delete this now or does it have to stay in there for the my mpc to continue working?

Thanks for any advice on this. I've spent the last 2 months reading posts on here sweating about whether I was doing the right thing getting the 500 - so far I'm really impressed with it!

Yes you can safely delete it, it's installed so your MPC wont need that bin file on your flash card anymore.

Congrads also on your new 500, I've had mine going on 3 months, It never ceases to amaze me!

Thanks for the advice!

I'm still getting the hang of it and working out the timing correct feature (not to mention the other hundred features i'm yet to understand) - but they certainly are great fun and a powerful production tool! I'm guessing it all gets a little easier after 3 months.

Yeah i think the MPC has had more of a learning curve than any other piece of gear I've encountered. It took me about a month to completely get the hang of it. I've had mine about 3 months and it really is getting really easy. Good luck bro.
