Anyone got a clue how to do this as i have both on and just want to have os1 on the mpc as im not gonna buy os2 yet

funny that dint work it still says hold tap tempo for os2

Try installing the Akai OS once again. But do a factory reset on the machine before reinstalling JJ OS1. Let me know if that helps.

tryd the hold erase thing after putting akai os back on before jj os 1 but it still says hold tap tempo for os2...

try reinstalling an old version of OS1 then reinstalling 4.99A.

after restarting again...its still says the same thing...this is wierd

ok, try this:
reload the akai os or an earlier JJOS, then save some samples to the internal memory (not CF card/ hard disk) and then try reloading 4.99. i think if os2 is still in the portion of internal flash memory, then JJOS 4.99 will display that startup screen. another possibility is that it always displays that on startup, did it ever not happen with you (or anyone) on OS 4.99?

i think i had the newest os1 & didn't think i needed os2 until the newest os2 update. i never saw the screen until i bought os2. i flashed allot of psps so i know clean internal ram is important on small electronics. weird things that are hard to trace can result.
i love jjos, but i think they should release some type of clean up utility that cleans the internal memory for those of us who grab every update. You could just run it every few upgrades or downgrades.

Why not run 4.98 or whatever it was before 4.99? Kind of like Mr. Modnar's suggestion, but I doubt you'll miss a feature.

wondering i mite have to buy it to remove it....how big will the wav or files need to be to use up all internal memory?
