i just got my ram memory card n the mail..its a ebay brand but i saw on here to look for these specific numbers HYNIX PC 133 144PIN CL3 SODIMM 256MB - RAM so yea i got that wit those numbers and i watch the youtube video to install it.. did that but once i turn the machine back on it starts a memory check. it passes check 1 2 3 but fails 4 it reads FAILED (88000000 then says the problem was found in memory please check the memory, system balt

can someone help me wat doo i need to check or look at i did upgrade my mpc a while back to the new OS version ...i dont know if it has anything to do wit it thanks!!

not all of the brands are compatible with the mpc a few suggestions before you take it back

1. try installing it again (make sure you hear a click that the sides are in place on the ram) also make sure you push it in with some force (the ram chip might not be in all the way).
if that doesnt work and its still coming up with an error
take it back and check the stick for the different types of ram that has worked and purchase one of those.

ok i toook the chip out the mpc looked in the cabon where u put the card n made sure no dust or nothin .. put the chip back in made sure i herd the click..its in perfectely but its still reading the same

mpc1000 Bootblock ver.1.03
boot on sodimm memory check mode
total memory size 64Mbytes

then it does the pass testing n still fails on 4 (88000000)
maybe the card is not good im not sure imma look for another card
the one i got was a Hynix i thought those were pretty good ..does the maual give code errors i can read about? thanks for ur help!
i also have version OS 2.10 does that make a difference

im not sure about akai os as i run jjos ver 2
but look in the sticky thread cf and ram recommendations it will help, i remember when i first got my mpc i went to compusa (when it was still open) and bought two types and neither one of them worked, then i read the thread on here and got the kingston ram from newegg.

so since you did all of that im sure it wont read the ram its probably unrecognizable on the mpc
