really need some help

just got a mpc 2500 but my first mpc was a 2000xl. if i have the drums on one track and try to put the sample on track two. why does the sample cut off the drum and get all choppy. on the 2000xl i can lay down my drums then the sample with the problems. wtf am i doing wrong

you know how on the 2000xl you can make a pad "mono" so that it cuts itself off? the 2500 has that as well, but it also has the ability to make the whole program "mono" so that any pad cuts off the other pads. unfortunately, a "mono" program is the default setting, so you have to go into program mode, then go to the params page, and in the upper right hand corner there's a field that says "play". change that to "poly" instead of "mono".
