Is there a way to convert a stereo Left & Right sample to just a stereo sample??? I've sampled plenty of my own sounds with the MPC4000 (stereo & mono) but recently I loaded a drum sample cd-rom and the stereo samples were loaded as a left & right separate samples in a keygroup. I tried converting the keygroup to a program but the samples were still individual left and right samples and using mute groups for the hi-hats for example had bad results (the sounds were cutting off strange & did not sound as they should). I'd appreciate any help/info.

Doing this would require you to make changes all over the program. These programs were made to be compatible with older samplers that couldn't play stereo files. They typically have a L and R sample in zone one and two and are panned accordingly. So you would need to combine the two, change the panning and possibly other parameters.

Is there a reason you need to do this? Many sample kits out there are this way, and they should work fine. If I were to ever bother with this, I'd try using one of the sample converters. I remember Extreme Sample Converter having the option to do exactly what you are talking about and that would save a lot of time.

Thanks for your reply MC, seems like too much trouble to go through. The reason I asked is because I thought the MPC4000 might have an auto function which would do this as the manual (ref.) may not have all the functions of the machine - or incomplete as Feline & others have stated in the forums...
