mpc sound library cf card.

just got a question about all the kits on the compact flash card that comes with the mpc 500. say if i want to use the 808 drum kit, with the syn bass kit for my bass lines with some strings in my sequence how do i go about it? every time i try to make my drums in a sequence, then load another kit up it wipes the last one out so im back to square one. im pretty new at this so any help would be really great.

What you have to do is:
- Load both the 808 Drumkit program and the SynBass program and then in the PARAMS menu of each TRACK you record, you must assign the program you want to use (by defaut, I think that the last loaded program is assigned).
OR
- Load specific samples from the 808 Drumkit folder instead of the full program, assign them to the pads you want and do the same with the needed sample from the SynBass. This will result in a custom program containing both some drum and bass sounds.

Now... Have it your way !!! And also, please read the instruction manual, it is pretty clear regarding this kind of stuffs (else, you won't go far if you're already stuck by this kind of problems)
