hey as you can probably tell im completely new to both mpcs and this forum.
ive just bought an mpc 2000xl mcd from mpcstuff.com and purchased all the requirements for hooking up my mpc to my turntable(numark tt1625) via my mixer (numark dm950.) im aware these might not be great but i cant really afford anything better at the moment.

anyway to the ignorant part of my question. when the turntable is connected to the mixer and the mixer to the mpc, should the sound from the turntable be heard through the speakers as soon as the mpc is turned on? on my old sampler the sp-404, the exit source button needed to be pressed. is there an equivalent on the mpc?

again sorry for my ignorance, im saving up for the beatmaking guide but i hope you can help me in the meantime
it would be greatly appreciated :D

no, you will only hear the sound of the turntable when you go to the record mode in you mpc

^^true.

one comment about that dm950 mixer. i have one and not to dissapoint you or anything, but the fader went bad on my a few months after I bought it. it has lots of noise now when you move it left/right. it wont make noise when its in one place, but as soon as you touch it, it crackles. it hasnt even seen heavy use. :( im just glad i didnt spend a huge amount of money on one lol.

good luck! and do as the person above me suggests
