yeah now you mention it, you would expect more..?
can't deny the beauty of the original MPC colors of course !!
...but mine was blue ( with purple numeric buttons !!?..who made that up?)
something had to be done ;)

Well, I FINALLY got my hands on an xl (thanks, I need an mpc) specifically to do a customization. I have the 2500 but have always wanted a custom xl. I'm still trying to decide how I will freak it, but when I do, I will post pics. I also just found a 2k classic I am thinking of picking up just to customize it. If I get the classic, I will freak it. Then I'll just keep the xl stock and let my sons get loose on it.

I just spent a bit searchin for that button template, cuz Pauli convinced me there's no reason NOT to pimp out the Classic - but tastefully.

Anybody know where that thing is?

Thanx, I'll shoot a PM - at this point I'm just trying to determine if it's a template for an XL or if both are floating around or if I can just fudge it and make it work with some photochopping or what-have-you

Yeah it looks extra stealth like...But I think it would look very nice if you have the labels in a different grey/antracite kind of colour so that they're really subtle, but there nonetheless...

yeah,I did, about forty people watching this topic before anything was posted say that there`s much interest in customized mpcs....but just a few seem to do it!
I do also like the original color sheme, but to protect my virgin like 2000 I`ll put a foil onto it.not one of these ugly mpc stuff ones, but a self tailored....
are there clear foils for sale?never seen anything like that...

He also did that 2000. It was silver and black with black pads and buttons. He did pust all his text on by hand using dry transfer.

Maxillaa wrote:I think you used an alcohol marker to tag on your xl...the effect is,that the spray paint don`t grip on the tags.
didn`t you wrote something about metallic flakes in the clear coat?

Wait a minute....
waht if you used the alcohol marker on the button labels? Wouldn't that protect them from being painted over? Just a thought....I was trying to wrap my head around this for the past 3 weeks. No one really wants to pay Forat JUST to keep the button labels on your machine.
Someone get back to me please about this. Lets keep this discussion going.....

I don`t wanna offend you, but,if you spray paint your machine, you will have to take off the paint or rub it off with sand paper, especially whats printed.the paint won`t grip on it without......
how do you want to handle the sand paper so it scratches not the button labels?and even if it would work, how fine would your marker have to be?are you able to paint the button labels with a marker that fine?
than do it!after taking off all the paint!
ok,think there`s a solution...
I saw stickers for model cars who get sticky after lying in water, also heard that blank stickers are available that can be printed onto...
but to get a long time solution these should be clear coated....
:)
possibly the works printed labels won`t let the paint grip onto, who will try first????

Yea, not I. My plan was to sandblast or use sandpaper to get everything down to the metal, then hand it off to a friend who paints for a living to handle it from there.

I just don't trust the guy to label everything properly, and figure I could save some cash if I can hand him a template that he can use to hit all the button labels in a quick and easy manner.

Anti-stickers, personally
