Hell no, lol... The zoning just makes it a little easier, thats all. Its not like it can detect different individual beats and slice up your sample all perfect for you automatically like ReCycle (If you wanna call something cheating, when it comes to sample chopping, then it should be that program...). The only way it (the 2000xl) chops a sample into perfectly useable pieces automaticlly is if you have a perfectly trimmed and looped , plain-jane, vanilla-@ss , 1 to 2 bar drumloop with no type of groove or syncopation, and you select 8 or 16 zones. Or a loop that just happens to work like that, like the one I provided in the tutorial. Anything other than that and you're gonna have to manually select the Zones, which is a pain in the @ss, but very rewarding.
I love the Zone feature. As long as it still requires user input, unlike ReCycle, it's not cheating to me, it's just a time saver.
