Make the sample stop when you let go of the pad!

Hey all. I am new here. I was just wondering how to do this:

When you press a pad on the MPC2000XL the sample plays but then stops when you let go.

Right now when I press the pad the sample plays and doesnt stop.

I would greatly appreciate any information. Thanks for your time.

I have a question for you guys. Is there any way to get The mono parameter working so when you press a different pad the sample ends.

That's a matter of setting the sample to "note off" as mentioned already

just highlight the mono field and hit open window. from there you can setup which pads cut other pads off.

remember to hit open window on EVERYTHING. it will open options you never knew were there....

Hi I was wondering if you guys could help me out with the same problem. I own a MPC 2000 and just got done looking through the manual. I can not get my samples to stop once I release my finger from the drum pad. I followed the directions and sent an all note off to the midi inputs and pressed the panic button. But I still have the same problem.

I have a 2000 as well. Go to program>parameter>hit the pad that you want> and there's three option you can pick on the bottome right corner of the screen. There's Poly, Mono, And note off. The one you want is Note OFF. Hope that helps.

Yeah that does help thanks. I have another question if you do not mind me asking. How do I get one sample to stop when I play another sample on a different drum pad?

highlight the word mono in the parameters screen. Push the pad that you want to silence another. Push open window. Then you can choose which pad you want it to silence.

I am running the mpc essential software and im using an akai mpd 218 and i have no clue how to set it to stop the sample when u let go. any suggestions? the mpd is only a midi device
