dont knoe if someone has already posted this but

i would really like it if there was a better way to manipulate the effects
like if we could use 1 and 2 withou having to send 1 thru 2
that way u can eq a sample and verb anotha and double up on another

itd be cool if he could do somethin kinda like the way it works for da 5000

believe dat

The arpeggiator has a one big flaw which I'd like to see improved:

There's no note length for each note. This renders the current arpeggiator nearly useless.

If there was one extra row for the note length it would be great. It would also be nice to be able to extend the note length to the next note slots if there was no note in them already. This would be done just by setting the next slot's note length to something else than zero when the next slot doesn't have a note assigned to it. This way you could even make a one pattern long note in the arpeggiator if you'd like to.

With this kind of control you could create super-short note stabs and long note progressions, which ever suits your music style :)

Chanegs for GPE:
- Unhiding the [WHOLE] Function.. this is too important to bind it behind a secondary key! This has to be right in yo face, mane!

^ i'm half and half on that
at first i very much agreed but i'm so used to it now that it doesn't give me a second's thought

along those lines though, i'd be MUCH happier though if vertical zoom in normal trim operated the way vertical zoom in CHOP works: WITHOUT SHIFT. i hate hitting shift+cursor up/down to zoom vertical. i remember you saying something about that too stan

erm ... would it be possible to have a user-definable lfo wave? i used to have a yamaha rs7000, and that was about its only redeeming feature, to be able to draw in your own waveshape in the little window

But i would love to have the sequncer clock put up to 960ppq. I am sure that is impossible due to some sort of hardware problem or some lack of memory, but honeslty, I think this would make the 1K the best machine out there.

I think the double the tempo trick has been mentioned, which gives you 192ppq.
A choice in the options mode for this would be cool e.g:
ppq 1: 96ppq (max tempo 300)
ppq 2: 192ppq (max tempo 150)
So you could choose this without having to use double the amount of bars and the tempo readout wouldn't be doubled, note repeat values would be correct etc etc.

that's a good idea! ^^^

yeah that is cool.
so as long as the count in on double time res behaves the way it does now
i HAAAATE how long the count in is on "normal" time

ah ha..but do you hate it more than having the numbers "wrong" on every screen of the mpc? :)

I hardly ever use the count in to be honest, im more bothered by the click accents being every two beats rather than every 4 when using the double tempo work around.

I wonder if it'd be just a simple programming tweak or whether JJ would have to mess with all types of stuff to make it work, like how would it work in step edit or the lfos where the ticks are integral.

Make extra audio play recordable; i made some dope beats with while playing with sliders.

just a guess but this feature could be pretty neat for live use...

i did a small search but nothing came up. maybe it's been asked for already but rather than a new feature a couple ideas to make some existing ones more expansive:

user adjustable polyphony limit (like in NI Battery) per program. Sometimes rather than just a monophonic sound or full polyphonic I'd like to set a program to 2-3 for the polyphony limit. Good for 2 note fm-like bell/sine wave sounds with a really long release that tend to chew up the voices quickly.

the portamento feature is great. on the microkorg you can set porta to
1) only occur if you are holding a note AND press a new note
2) occur if you hit a new note even if you aren't pressing anything else
The mpc porta is set like (1), be nice if (2) was an option
Actually, I believe this is something related to the sound being monophonic as the korg manual states:
TRIGGER MODE - Specifies whether the EG and LFO will be retriggered when you play the next key while still holding down the previous key.
So legato vs retrigger.

Also be cool if the lfo section (amount) could automatically be assigned to receive from a mod wheel just as it receives from the pitch bend wheel. I'm sure this pertains to the whole midi cc request thread but thought i'd add that i'm interested in more midi features too.

how about a sidechain option to the master and effects compressor?
it would be fun to have a sidechain compressor in the mpc!
you could select the sidechain input from a pad and pad level

eg:

Image

could be useful for basslines and samples to stop the mpc peaking after using filters!

Peace!

this is also a request of mine from a while back. a sidechain compressor would have endless possibilities on the MPC & be very usefull. the sidechain could also be a track or even the other FX bus (FX 1 or FX 2). for sure i would send your request directly to JJ along with that screenshot you made.

already sent it via bug report and i got this reply:

"Your request was sent to the JJ.
However, a JJ is very busy now.
Although I feel sorry, it cannot answer now about whether the request is possible."

well at least we know he got it, guess we wait and see if it gets added on!

Peace!
