Broken Card reader question

Hi,

I want to buy a used 2500 with a broken card reader. It has a 80g hard disk in it. Is the usb transfer to my mac will work ?? Is the MPC will booth even if the card reader is broken ?

yes usb transfer works with mac, it actually works better on mac

im guessin after that u r askin if it will work eve nthough the card reader is broken, my guess is yes

my other guess is u ask the seller if it works even while the cf card reader is broke, lol

i dont think the cf card reader bein broke will effect the the actuall mpc sound and functions

u just gotta save to the hardrive then, or hook up usb to transfer between cpu and mpc

Yes, that seems logical. Is someone know if it's possible to install the latest os via usb or it's only via a flash card ? It would be nice.

You can copy the OS file to the harddrive via USB and install it from there. But if the update fails, which happened to a lot of people, and you have to load it from the card during bootup, then you're ****.

I'm not real sure about this but, do you think the card reader might be replaceable. And what are they asking for it?
