Post your views and questions about the Akai MPC2500

It seems to me that the punch of the mpc 2500 is different than a lot of other sequencers. I've noticed, for example, that other sequences punch in snares and claps a little faster than the 2500.

Could someone tell me why that is

If you're comparing it to the SP1200 then the difference is that (apart from the 12 bit) the SP has analogue low pass filters on some of its outputs that are built in, so, usually the sound of the kicks and snares kick ass. Other than that it sounds like ur takin the piss

make sure you trim your samples properly.

make sure you play your samples properly into the sequencer. It sounds like its just a matter of your timing being off.
