Dead Battery, Only 1 issue

MPC60MK1 OS 3.10

I understand that I have a dead battery from reading various threads. Basically if I set my pads up on the master in octave fashion, and "save" it like this when I shut my MP off and turn it back on the pads aren't set in octave fashion, they are default(all over the place).

The only reason I would like them to stay in octave fashion is because my homie gave me his 2000xl( I know right!?) and I want to use the 2kXL at a sound module and trigger samples with the 60.
Question is, can I make a "boot" disk that has the pads set up in octave fashion and just leave that in the MP when I boot it up so it loads it as such. Then I can remove that floppy and work on my other floppies for sound.

If I am not making any sense please let me know so I can clarify.

I saved the parameter file on disk and boot the 60 with it..

Word, thats what I figured.

Not that it takes a long time really to set the pads up the way I want to, but its an annoyance to do it everytime I flip my mp on.

Saving a Parameter file

The settings of most of the MPC60's data fields which are not normally
saved to disk are retained after power is removed, so that you don't have to
set them again every time you turn the power on. This function allows you
to save a special file called a "Parameter file" (file extension: "PAR") which
contains the current settings of these data fields.
