Is there a quick way to break a drum performance down?
So if I bang out a beat all at once is there a function to separate those notes to individual tracks anywhere copy and pasting I can do just checking there isn't a quick way like on the MV which has a neat separate to different tracks function.
cheers

AFAIK you have to copy the track once for each sound and then delete the bits you don't want - a bit of a pain

there are many times when a "split pads to tracks" function would be nice

If it is a "drum" track, you should be able to hit copy and simple select the pads you wish to copy by tapping the pad........select the time range, choose a seperate track and past in the copied data.....

i usually have the mpc set to keyboard instead of drum... but i go to the seq edit page, then select copy, and pick what i want to have copied.

or you can do what richard said. both ways work.
