Hey all,

just checked the AKAI website today and they did some small alterations to the optics of the machine. Looks pretty cool to me, but check yourself... :D

**** it, it's got the 960ppqn and hopefully better effects than the 4000. Does look like a cheap ass midi controller though.

That looks sweet. I like how the silver trim makes it stand out more.

There go Akai, always making last minute changes. By late April, it will be blue again.

I have been waiting for a LONG time to get a newer better MPC
and this one looks to be promising I just don't like the fact that it looks like a
BIG 2500 cause that brings to mind ALL the default probs that I read about
the 2500.

Like Jimbo said a while back I don't want to end up with "testware".

With the exception of the black data wheel, and the color of the side panels...I don't see any other changes...

Also..I can't understand the talk about thw build of the MPC 5000 or 2500. The MPC 2000 and 2000XL are not built to a higher standard than these newer MPCs.

I was informed by my dealer that MPC5k are made in Taiwan and should be available some time in April. Quality-wise I think I trust Taiwanese-made stuff more than other Korean or Chinese products.

Personally I don't care for the silver thingy on the 5k though. Might as well give it some wooden panels to jazz it up a bit! 8)

For $2,500, the DVD burner should come installed and not as an option.
