Mpc 1000 makes noise any idea how to fix this?

Hi - my mpc makes a noise when i plug in the power cable. It's the kind of noise it makes when you don't plug in the grounding of a turntable...It occures when the powercable is plugged in - even if the mpc is not turned on Does anyone know why this happens and how to fix this problem?

that started happening to mine when i moved to a new apartment, something was poor about the wiring there i guess. it would happen when i had my receiver plugged into a power strip on one outlet and the mpc plugged into another outlet. if put the mpc and receiver both on the same power strip the problem went away.

sounds like dirty power.

replace your power cord.
