Need help on buying mpc 2000xl please respond

I am a new guy to the forum .I might be buying a used mpc 2000xl for $799 from guitar center.I have a roland fantom s, fl studio 4.1, reason, acid 2.0, and other programs.Do I really need a mpc 2000xl? Should I get a mpc 1000? I am trying to come in the producing world, so i will get whatever to help me.If possible help me out with advice and tips on using it.Thanks

It's a bit like asking a complete stranger what kind of a car is best for you..

This is something that we can't help you with, you have to do the research yourself. Go to the guitar center to play with it for at least a half an hour so you get to know the machine a little bit, and to get some feel for the pads and ish.

Now of course this being an mpc-forum, we all love our mpc's and gladly recommend others to try 'em out too, but we can't know what best suits your needs.

What kind of music are you planning to make?
What do you think you can do on the mpc that you can't use your existing gear on?
What are you looking for in the mpc; the feel of the pads? The sequencing? The centerpiece of your studio?

I am trying to come in the producing world, so i will get whatever to help me.

Better and pricier gear won't make your beats better. You can do nice stuff with FL and Reason if you take your time to learn the programs. Don't jump on the mpc bandwagon just because you heard it's the heat of the moment.

Hip hop, rnb,and rock are the music genres I make. I really dont know what all the mpc 2000xl does. I have been doing research for the last 3 days. I been wanting one for 3 years now.I want it to be mostly the centerpiece of my studio with my fantom s.Is it really that easy to use?

The MPC has a funk like feel from it that controls your midi production. Almost every Hiphop and R&B hits on the market today was made with the MPC. The MPC is in most studios and many people will say that it is the industry standard for producing Hiphop and R&B hits. Each model has different features. All models are great. It's just up to you to determine how much money to spend.

Dash...just listen to the demo from the 1000, and you will buy it. If you have a phat bank account, than get the 4000.

cant afford da 4000. the 1000 is 879 and the 2000xl is 799 for me. is the 2000 easy to sample and hook up to a keyboard.

The MPC is a great piece of equipment, but like everything, it's not for everyone.

Spend some time with one of them darlings before breaking out the cash!

just came back and am loving the mpc.except for the space of memory.darn floopy disk drive 1.44mb.Other than that it hot.



How much space does the 2000xl have?

you can upgrade to 32 mb. also, you will definitely want a zip drive, either external scsi or an internal ide one.

How much for both options or upgrading period.

I kinda dont trust ebay.What about at stores

wont find them cheap as ebay. i know how u feel. i was real leary about ebay at first. once u get on, its addicting though u can find d@mn near anything there. they have ways to prevent u from getting screwed. Paypal is your best bet on ebay...

Most likely I am getting it 2morrow from guitar center 4 800.it is used but looks perfect.I gon need help from everybody when it comes to learning how to use it

The manual should be your best friend for the next few weeks...
It may seem a little hard to understand at first, but keep reading it and pushing the buttons and you'll get the hang of it in no time.
