What do i need to use my mpc w/ my pc

i have a 2kxl and a yamaha keyboard..ima get a better keyboard soon, more likely a rack and a midi contoller..i want to record on my pc (win xp)..i was thinkin about gettin m-audio audiophile 2496 sound card, to connect my mpc wth the cpu, but do i need a soundcard? do i need a mixer? do i need both? BTW i dont know what progrm i'll be recording with, just yet maybe logic, cubase or audition

I just use a midiman 4x4 midi out from mpc to midi in on the 4x4
I also use an Mbox as my soundcard and digital interface for Win/xp.

I route my line outs to the mixer Line ins except I learned that the Record
ins on the Mpc have to go to your Main out on your mixer the stereo out
can go to your line in on your mixer.

The midiman 4x4 is USB. so you can hook it up to your pc.
