paying to work with established artist

i recently got a contract in the mail to work with B-real from cypress hill
on a mixtape he is produceing entitled "the harvest" the catch is i will be a work for hire artists and WILL NOT be compensated .. i get a copy of the completed track , marketing tools and materials and i can legally say i have worked with cypress hill but the major catch is i have to pay 5000 dollars to be put on??? plus the expense to get to california and back and ill be there for a week ... sounds OK but the money seems a bit steep ..

so the question is how much is too much to be put on??

that price seems a little much, plus you have to travel and all.

Maybe don't rush into it to fast and find another artist thats not so much.

my girl said it seemed a bit iffie .. i gave the contract to a local lawyer its all legit .. but i could use that money to promote our own underground products .. i would like to work with b-real ive always been a cypress hill fan!! to bad this seems like a huge scam ..

Hell no! 5 Grand for B-Real? That's Young-Mc Status right there. B-Real should be happy getting a beat that he doesn't have to pay for. Not to down the guy because he's dope, but I don't think it's really him asking 5G's to lay some vocals. Something sounds butt funk stink nasty...this goes well beyond fishy.

Yeah, it was probably me who posted this earlier...I got offered the same contract...which after reading, I pretty much laughed it off....sure, they offer a lot of "extras" after it's all said and done and if I had 5 g's to throw around I'd have probably done it, but I don't so forget it. They still send me emails asking me if I'm ready to do it....not gonna happen.

producers get payed for what they do producer
if you payed them for being on you track that means you are doing the wrong thing
when there is cats getting payed by record labels and artist for producing tracks for there project. Thats how it goes not you paying them. have pride in being a producer
