And another thing, THERE CAN BE NO WACK ****....I think we need to get somebody on quality control....I'd love to be in charge of quality control, but If you (ssnedden) want to do it, that's fine...

But, go peep my beats on my myspace,

www.myspace.com/a_real_mc

I'm SURE that will prove that I would be very good at handling the quality control aspect, because I won't allow wack ****...Especially since the point of the tape is to prove that you can make dope music with the MPC 500....

So, you guys let me know what you think....

I can also handle transitions between each beat if nobody has already taken that position....?

Let me know....

Cool, I think Spacetimegod is doing the mixing in PT, but you guys can work it out, I'm in no position to say who is better at doing transitions.

I like your beats, and I agree that we need Quality Control. I was planning on doing that, but since I don't really like being harsh that can be your job. And I know we need more than 5 beats, I meant that I was planning on dropping 5-10 myself before we got all of these people in on it. But yeah, I'll have everyone send me their beats when we're closer to completion, then me and you will narrow it down, and whoever ends up mixing it down will decide the tracklist to make sure that they get good transitions in.

Cool man, just keep me poosted on everything...I don't care on the mixing....I can do it, he can do it...as long as the transitions are clean, i'm fine....

I appreciate you letting me in on it, cause I have no problem being harsh, or rather...picky...

Just have everyone upload their beats, and send me links....

As long as it gets mixed well I don't care who does it, you guys can work it out as long as it doesn't end up with neither one of you doing it. A_real_mc - Once I get everyone's submissions, I'll send you a smaller group to narrow it down from.

ATTN: If you have a submission ready My email is ssnedden @ gmail.com (take out the spaces). Send me a link to your beats via Yousendit.com or something like that, along with the name you wish to be credited as on the mixtape. Also feel free to email me if it relates to the tape, the cover art, the mixing, djing for it, etc... But for those of you who send beats now just know that it might take a little bit of time until completion (I'm aiming for before 4-20, because that would make that day a little bit better).

If you have a recording program (Cool Edit is what I use), just record the beat on it.

Then you can go to rapidshare.com and click on the FREE ZONE. In the free zone, it will ask you to browse you're files, pick the beat you want to upload, click upload....
It will upload the beat and then it goes to a page that shows the name of the song uploaded witha link....click the link and then copy the address from the page it brings you to...

Then send that link to either ssnedden or myself.

Anything sent to me I will also forward to ssnedden for approval.

If you have any additional questions on uploading, ask them in this thread...I'd be happy to help you....

PEACE

i love this mini mpc, it's so easy and light to carry around plus it runs on batteries. It's just harder to navigate, and learn the mpc language with the 500. :D

Yeah, I've been on Spring Break, so I haven't really been keeping up, my bad. We'll probably use that Take Time beat of yours, I like the feel of that one, and maybe the nonsense one. If you have any others that you've been working on, send em over.

I just went to a record store out of town and have a stack of records that I'm really excited about, so I'm going to get back on my shit.

By the way, if everyone could try to produce an intro or outro on some of their tracks that would be great, that way we're not limited to beat matching on our transitions. Such as the original sample or a differnt way of chopping it, or a minimalized version of the beat with dialogue over it...

Everyone keep it up, if you have something you want to submit to this project, send your tracks and name you wish to be credited as to: ssnedden @ gmail . com

Aim for a mid April deadline.

Alright, i got in touch w/ the place thats repairing my MPC (it's been gone since 3/3). They said that it has a part on order and it should be in sometime next week. That puts it at the week of the 7th. Assuming that wraps everything up, I'm looking at getting it back sometime in the week of the 14th, provided no more unforseen BS from the repair company. I'd love to have it done by 420, so I'll do my best to get my beats in, but right now its out of my hands.

going insannnne w/ out my MPC!!!!

That sucks. You have a way to record chop samples in the meantime? The 4-20 release date would be nice, but it's flexible, it might be pushed back if needed.
