How would i go about upgrading the hard drive on my MPC 2000 ?

Can anybody help me with a Tutorial On using a MPC2K.

Does any one have a picture on there setup with their MPC 2000 hook up to their PC, Mixer, Mbox, DIGI 002 e.t.c. or can u draw me a diagram on how to hook up mine. I have a PC, Mbox 2, 2 KRK8 Monitors, MPC 2000, E-MU Proteus/2 (Rack), E-MU Xboard 25, M-Audio Trigger Finger and a Numark turntable setup with mixer going through Stanton Final Scratch.

I did not realize there was a hard drive to upgrade. I would suggest getting an internal zip drive or an external scsi hard drive. As for a tutorial, the best tutorial is reading this site and using the search function. I would also suggest downloading a manual and flipping through it in your free time. The best way to learn how to freak your machine is to get hands on with it one step at a time. But don't be afraid to ask for help. JUst make sure you come prepared.

Actually I know how to use all of my equipment. The only thing I'm iffy on is my MPC 2000. I was just asking for idea's on wiring because i have a tight space to work in.[/b]

no harm,but...
if you were able to get all of your shit working and wired, why not that **** easy thing you described as a problem....?also if you want a working answer,be more precise.
if you really set all your gear up,this would take you 1 minute of thinking and another 5 for putting it together the way you want it...
or did I understand something wrong?
even if I come hard, don`t be afraid to ask questions,go pm me as often as you want-but be precise and search for yourself first!
peace,max

With all that gear, I'm sure you can come up with some good wiring on your own though.

OH wait, did you just ask someone to draw you a diagram?

yea, all around this smells funky.

First off, no HD in an MPC 2000, be it classic or XL.... how you could understand basic audio gear and not know that.... I have no clue....

Having that amount of gear and askin a question like that, I mean....come on now...

check out pg 12 of the mpc 2000 manual.

It can be found at forat.com/service.

check out tweakheadz.com basic studio setup, it may help, yes there are pictures there somewhere to help you.

Of course you can install a HD in the 2k and the 2kxl! I don't say it's the easiest route to go but it is very doable.

Yes, it can be done, and yes he could have been talking about an external, but read his question as it was stated....

Don't go about twisting words, it's not nice

No really I'm talking about an INTERNAL harddisk. I'm not about twisting words, I just give information.

I didn't mean YOURS I meant MINE.

Had he asked about his custom/modded MPC which was rigged with an internal HD, that is one question....

Had he asked about an external HD connected to his MPC, that is one question.....
