Need a quick fix

hey just got the new jj os it is great, but two things my tap tempo is not working and my display has gone dim the mpc 2500 manual says hold shift and turn the data wheel, i did and nothing happend is that something with the jj os? can i fix my display?

In the JJ OS, you need to press the STOP button + DATA Wheel to adjust your display contrast.
