Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

i just copped my 500 like a week ago so im new 2 the mpc but not new to beat making. i record directly from my turntable to the mpc without a mixer (i use a sony tt with a built in pre amp). today i decided to try switching the line/mic button to see what happens and now the input is way louder than when i had it on line mode. on line the input would never clip even at max rec level and when i open the samples on my pc the level is low and i have to boost it. now when i switch to mic mode i gotta turn the rec knob down for a cleaner signal. so my question is is there a difference in quality between line and mic mode or should i continue using mic mode to get the highest input level?

Turntable w/ preamp connection is a LINE device connection so connect it to LINE.

If you have a MIC then connect it to MIC.

They are different. Use the appropriate one and stop wondering, lol..
