fixing button tact switches

would fixing my down button involve any soldering or anything? id rather fix it myself then send it all the wya to get done just for that button. anyone ever fix a button thatu gotta push mad hard by themselves?

Yes, you would have to solder a new switch in.

I saw that mpcstuff sells whole PCB boards with all the switches and pots as spare parts as well, for not too much. So if more than just a button is defective, that might be worth a thought.

yeh ive heard its a 20minute job, and can cost as little as $10, my down key is borked. so my workflow is stoped dead in its trax.

why not just use the minus (-) button for now until you get that down key fixed?

because i need down to navigate thru the menus.

you can still navigate through the menu's with + and -

Check it out though, take the top off so you can access to the tack switch. lubricate it with some sort of penetrating liquid. i used all purpose oil. apply it directly over the top of the button, not too much though, as a drop will be enough. after that just start pushing the button with pressure in a banging motion while rotating (moving the button in circles).

this made my down button work like new again.
