Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By Max Powers Sun Mar 23, 2008 2:51 am
hey whats goin on? I need the mpc 2000 clasic OS on a zip drive. My floppy drive is broken so I cant boot it up and I am under the impression you can only make the ZIPs copying the OS OFF THE MPC. If someone could do this I can cover the disk and shipping.

I am not looking for the easy way out just cant think of what else to do. if I am wrong and you can make the OS zip off a PC let me know.

thanks for your time and be well

place the zip drive in the computer, format the zip disk fat/fat16. download the os, unzip and place ONLY the os files onto the zip.

put the zip drive back into the mpc, update your mpc os, instructions are in the manual.

Let us know if it works or if you run into any problems.

I did the exact same thing I'm telling you many times, so I know it can work.

250mb/100mb/750mb, mpc, zip drive, pc, os..

"...update your mpc os..."?

Come on Lamp...why you gonna get him excited like that? Unless he has the flash ROM option installed, isn't it true that he isn't REALLY updating ANYTHING, because every time he boots the MPC 2k CLASSIC, he has to load the OS? That's a real messed up thing to do another human being B...

Peace,
KM

Lamp does speak the truth (aside from the updating part that is) about just throwing the OS on a zip via your PC. That'd be how I load the OS on my classic.

Has anyone priced the FMX008M lately? It's insane:

I WILL find one some day for a price I'm willing to pay.

Dude, just put the os files on a zip disk the way I stated.....

Forget the update part...
