uhhhh! Midi is f"cked up again 4.99b

I will try these things but my question that no one is answering or confirming is wheter or not this is a glitch. Has anyone else been able to generate it and if so why hasnt jj got back with me about it. My MPC has never done this before and its annoying.

nah I don't think it's an OS thing -- though I don't have a Fantom so it's really hard to say. I would think though that the issue lies somewhere in a Fantom setting, or with the way that the Fantom clock and MPC clock communicate

I know that I've had sync issues with a Korg R3 (as far as the clocks "catching up" to each other and such) but now have no such problems whatsoever with an Alesis Micron.

I know its the os! I havent changed anything on my Fantom or the MPC except for upgrading to 4.99 and 4.99b. Ive called roland and dealt with tech support and everything but still no luck. they also felt that it was the MPC. I cant call Akai because Im using the JJ and they dont know sh!t as we all know. When I did the os reset for the 4.99 os it fixed it for a few hours but then it flipped out. I upgraded and that fixed it then it flipped out again.

Tried a downgrade?

What I will do is send you the sequence exactly how it is. There's only 3 tracks to it and the 3rd track is the one with the issue.

You know how you can view a note within the grid edit window that would have a decay time of say 90? Well its displayed correctly there but is sounding like its only a quarter of the actual decay time. Like a quick stab instead of a whole note!

i can't speak on your midi issue as this isn't where my strength lies, but i can offer this:
turn the pad to note on, set your decay to be much less (30 or so)
and use DURATION + this lesser decay to achieve what you are going for.

How do I go about doing so? what info do I include? Im sorry but thats something new to me so If you could guide me through it that would be a good look!

Also since Ive been messing with it, In so many words my keyboards are not syncing with the MPC's midi clock correctly. It will allow me to dictate the tempo at which a sound is being played back but when recorded its not being recorded on the 1st note is playing back fine in record mode sometimes but when the sequence is stopped and play is pushed the 1st note doesnt sync according to the MPC midi clock/tempo.

I've got a possible solution.

Try setting the 'Local Control' --- or maybe Roland just call it 'Local' --- to OFF.

Doing that will break the connection between the keyboard and the sound source inside and should solve the midi loopback problem you are having.
