yea a cursor or a thin line that is horizontil of the sample and it moves while the sample is playing

While I understand Nym's rationale/POV, I gotta agree that the general concept of a scrolling cursor could improve workflow... Granted, it's not going to replace Wavelab/Peak/Audition/(Your wave editor-of-choice), but sometimes I'd rather not sit down at the Mac/PC. I tend to think a cursor would improve the ability to trim more accurately, and more intuitive.

Excuse my ignorance regarding the number of feature requests JJ is bombarded with, but this seems like something worth consideration! Requests for features along the lines of multiband-limiting, spectrum analysis, and/or a "human-brain-in-a-box" are the things that are more worthy of flaming :D

BTW- I understand that if the developer's current priority is an OS2 for the 2500, it's completion, and potential growth of the general JJ user-base will likely benefit all of us. A developer has to be able to put dinner on the table in order to continue coding, right? :)

Hello, I'm not dissin you all but I have to say it's just a fancy azz feature
and it will be slowing down CPU. How many of you are using TRIM in play mode?
It's already sloppy with longer samples, now if you cant hear/see where you are in your sample,
than maybe you're sampling toooo loooong pieces.

im talking about being able to turn it on or off for me at least waveforms dont always look convenient especially when its filled with multipule parts (no matter how long the sample is)
so go ahead and perfectly (or almost perfectly where there is little trial and error slice this quickly)

c i think with the addition of that line (just a tiny line or it could just be the arrow at the top (next to the three) would be a great improvement in the assistance of choping etc.

:? Everybody workflow is different so thats not a fair thing to say.. but not to say that your not PARTIALLY right if that IS the case. I think what is being said here is that Regardless it is still a GREAT feature to add plus Ive seen him accomplish...if not more complicated at least AS complicated features. Remember this is art.. Everybody dont HEAR or SEE what YOU do. I mean COME ON thats a GREAT IDEA. Im not dissin either, Im just sayin... :|

Too much luxury makes you lazy :P

I think JJ should focus on more vital stuff.

how is that luxury????? that would actually help in cutting, chopping and looping samples

I really just dont find it necessary at all. Never had any problems locating where to chop in a sample.

a cursor would be nice indeed
but what about using the pads, u hit one pad to play the sample, and once you get to the part where you wanna stop, hit another pad and it should set the sample end, then trim until it loops perfectly the normal way
