Can anyone tell me what the MIDI Program Change function is for (accessed from the main screen, select PC and press window). In the window it gives options to select different banks, change the MSB and LSB and Program changes such as 1:Grand piano, 2:Brite Piano and so on.
I may just be over looking something but i have no idea what it does.

Cheers Stax.

it's for sending program changes to a MIDI device -- so that you can have the sequence change the patch or whatever of a synth when it plays

it to call external sound module via midi connections.
the titles are for general midi purposes (GM)

yeah u can, the mpc can receive program changes and switch seq's as it receives them. its very cool

thanks man, do i have to change any settings on the mpc or does it just work once I have assigned a program to a sequence.

go to 'mode+midi/sync'

'seq...ch to prg ch.....=ON'

and any incoming Prog Change #, will start the appropriate Seq#,

ie:PC#0-98 = Seq#01-99 (i think they start at 0, but could be PC#1-99 = Seq#1-99, give it a whirl,

NB: set the appropriate seq start settings in 'window+cursor on sequence name in main page'.

Cheers, works fine, although I have to have it in next seq window for it to work, is this correct?

I have been playing around but i still can't get the mpc to change seq unless i bring up the next seq window. Can anyone tell me if this is right?

u using OS1?

all my info is based on OS1, not OS2, if its not working, then there gotta be something wierd goin on, 'cos it used to work well.

btw, another trick, is to record seq change PC's into a sequence, then use it as the simult seq, and rout yer midi out1 to midi inB, and qive it a shot, the seq with the changes, triggers the main sequence changes, its a quick way of testing it in the main window
