mpc 2000 pad malfunction?

I need some help from someone more experienced i just got an mpc 2000 and was loading sounds made my first beat no prob.Then moments ago im loading sounds and my5-8row of pads wont work in any bank but all of the others load and play just fine.What im asking is there a function key that would temporarily terminate these pads please help a newbie advance.

Not sure why this would happen, but maybe check the mixer screen to see if the volume levels are up for these pads.

thanks for the response but the pads are not even registering when pressed.I think i may have tripped a setting so im gonna try removing the internal settings battery for a few days to drain the compasitors and maybe reset itself and fix the problem,i hope.If not im gonna do a continuity test to see if there is any connection probs before i spend 70 or 80 bucks on new hardware.Goodlooks n let me know if u got some extra advice.
