different sound between JJOS 3.08 and 4.99

hallo!

does there anybody notice a different sound between the JJOS version 3.08 and 4.99? for me 3.08 sounds better and warmer. this is a reason for me to go on with 3.08, even though i want to use the features of the 4.99 version.

1. does anybody has the same soundproblem?

2. is it possible to get the sound of 3.08 in 4.99?

i will try to discribe it..

i wrote an email to JJ, he said there can not be a different sound, because on the sound nothing is changed in JJ OS1 (4.99).

i made a beat in JJ OS (3.08) and recorded this in cubase. then i did the same with JJ OS1. the recorded waves looked a little bit different, and sounds different too. i found out that the bassdrum in OS1 had in the beginning a bigger signal, very short, but this made the 'click' sounds harder, by what the bassdrum sounds different. if i cut the sample in the beginning a little bit shorter (in OS1) it sounds exactly the same as in OS..

i don't know why it is like this, but after all the different OS's sounds the same. it has something to do with the length of the sample which is played. maybe it has something to do with the trim function..

Ok the click at the beginning of the sample.

The Akai OS applied a small fade to the beginning of samples..even when the attack is set to 0 in the program. . JJ got rid of this at some point, so the sampleplays as it is. A very good move in my opinion, just take care chopping, or apply the fade yourself.
