yo heres the deal...I love my XL but my drums sound way too weak inless I play them with full level. Without full level they are sooooo low its unbelievable. I dont like going threw and turning everything down exept the drum sounds but I want to be able to play human velocity. Is there anything I can do to fix this like change the sensitivity of the pads? Also I tried going into the mixer and boosting the DB of the drum program but for some reason it boosts my samples as well even tho they are on a different program. Also, what level do yall sample things at? I usually sample them when the level bar is around the R on the word record where it says "Pre-Record". Ive heard you need to leave room for processing once I can finally hook it up to the computer. Am I sampling my sounds too low? Thankyou for any help/tips

Yo need to go to Trim and go to your sample and go to Params and turn the volume of the actual sample up to like 150 or 200 and it will be louder. If your sampling with the signal going up to where it says Pre-Record that is way too hot I sample with signal going up to about half of screen or so maybe a touch higher..

well there's a couple things you could do.

turn up your Main Volume knob on the mpc when you start a beat so your drums are high. just turn down everything else that's too loud.

or

go into TRIM mode, select the sound you want to edit and turn up the main sample velocity. I think its under PARAMS or something like that. I think the main sample volume goes up to like 200. Default is set to 100.

Im not in front of my mpc so I dont know exactly what it says.

aite thanks for the fast replies yall. But you really think I should sample stuff at half screen?? that seems low as hell. Does anyone else have any opinions on this?

It's not really that low sample at like 3/4's of the way up jsut under where you were recording before it's not too low trust me run your cables straight out your MPC to your speakers that is the true sound and see how low it is.

This only happens when full level is off. Does this happen to anyone else?

mm maybe you should try new pad sensors

You could also adjust the velocity sensitivity in program mode (vel -> volume), but you'll have to do this for each sample.
