I've paid for os1 and now os 2, and to be honest I'm underwhelmed.
the new features that have been added to the mpc are useful that is for sure, but I feel like the priorities have been falling short, with the MPCs primary duties being sampling, chopping, sequencing, muting, and song creation I'm very much sick of the 'work around' attitude that has taken the lead on this machine, you know in hiphop there is a term we use often
called 'going back to the basics' and I feel that the basics have not been made to work properly and that instead of that we've got alot of cool extra stuff. we're obviously blessed to have jj programming whatever ideas we can come up with and that's great but can we please in both os's have the mute functions fixed, have the song mode fixed, have the ability to loop a sample on a pad without it being cumbersome, and could we have some new features that bulk up the basic features. thats all i'm really talking about here in some cases the basics need to be fixed and in others it would be nice if they were added to, I hear alot of people telling other people that the mpc is not an all in one machine and don't try to make it one, use your computer ect.... and the same people are calling for tons of cool but esoteric features before their time. I'll be honest if the basics aren't working right I could give a flying **** about those extra super cool features, at this rate my mpc 1000 will be able to make me a **** latte before it can record mute functions in song mode like it's suppose to.
and I'm so sick of work arounds I'm about to change the name of this **** to the 'work around 1000'........... like pete rock said, what about the basics.
mute functions
looping
direct recording
also I know i'm lucky, I know Akai didn't do the job right and i'm thankful for jj, that's why I paid my chips now gimme the **** dip.
