im looking into a 2000 classic... it has no 8 outs, or FX... and needs a new screen. Hes charging $300... is that a good deal or not? i was hoping there was a ghetto way to fix the screen or maybe you guys knew of a cheaper screen than MPCstuff or VSTservice. thanks in advance!

I just found a classic 2000 too in pretty decent shape. It has a line in the screen and does not have the 8 outs either. I don't know if it has the fx or not. I was gonna buy it for 200 but the jerk upped the price to 300 after I told him what it was and what it was worth. I am now buying it for 300. It's still a good deal though. As far as the lcd screen, I have no idea where else to get them. Good luck homie.

Find a Guitar center near you that has a used 2kXL. I copped mine for $500. Save up a lil' more and it'll be worth it.

2nd co-sign. If this is your first, do the XL out the gate. That Zip drive won't work in a 2k classic without modifications either, if that's what you wanted it for.

Peace,
KM

I hear you B. If you're rebuilding, I would still go with the XL.

And some homeowners insurance while you're at it.

I just copped a 2000 from craigslist with scsi zip and usb zip for $400. Great shape, new screen. However, I have to agree about the XL, 2000 doesn't read folders, I think the XL does.

Ok everybody... first id like to thank you for making me think twice about it... $300+$230 for a 2000 classic with nothing = not such a good idea as i intially thought...

I found a 2000xl fully blown 8 out and all for $500... picking it up from JFK friday! all it needs is the variation slider and thats nuthin!
