I've been reading the forum...
buuuuut i was thinking it can't hurt to ask one more time about monitors

which of these would you prefer? anyone with experience with both of them?

My two cents worth take a CD or tape to the store ask the clerk to play it and listen.

behringer thruths is also an option..

since i'm probably going to order them from a website, i can't check them out.. the only music hardware-store around doesn't have both of the monitors, i think... and i don't think they will order them in just so i can listen to them...

I got the alesis mkImkII joints they hit nice fo sho! Very popular speaker. But I heard these joints the other day at the guitar center and they nice plus they have a 8" woofer on them u can hear everythin nice too!

I got the bx5's there decent for the price. there actually very good for the price, There is bad low end on them though. It has some nice features for frequency settings that in a way make up for it. I'm very happy with mine, they haven't been a problem always worked and sound nice and clear.

id wait and save some more money to upgrade a little better, the bx5
are good and all but for an extra 200 dollars you can definitly find better shit.

if you've got the dough, event 20/20s, I've heard their the best monitors you can get before you start spending big bucks, behringer truths are prolly the best for around the £300 mark is what i've gathered from reviews, I can't say tho I haven't heard any of the competition.

check www.soundonsound.com for in depth reviews on pretty much any gear, just type it into the search.

i got the alesis mk1 mk2s and they are ill. they are all i need and i love the low end that they have.

I have the bx 5's, they hit nice. they also give off a nice stereo sound and feel.

Them 20/20 joints are nice tho but there $899 for the powered joints tho!

but are they better than the other monitors?

yes, but they run around 500 i think. the bx5's are the lower model of the same unit but for around 300.
