What version Akys with newest version of Leopard?

I just copped a new mac pro and the version f akys I was using was for windows. I see some peple are using aksys with leopard and I wanted to know what version works? I downloaded version OSXV261 but I'm having trouble with Bias Peak 5.21 and 6. I can see my programs and samples in aksys but I can't play them. When it asks me to choose a sampler editor, I choose peak and it just says file not found when I try to play it and Error 1857 when I try to drag and drop. If anybody can help please let me know.....Peace

Sorry don't know.
I am using osx 10.4.11 with no problems you could always install an earlier version of osx.
both aksys and peak work.
If you are having any trouble with Peak email their tech support.

With Apple it is mostly NOT possible to downgrade your OS.......

eldorado, you have the correct aksys version but it doesnt work properly with Leopard. Find workarounds and be happy

Heres an idea.
I have often used an external drive with a separate osx boot on it for projects where I am working in other peoples facilities.
If you have an external hard drive you could create a partition and install osx10.4. Then try booting your machine from that partition.
If it boots up and all works. then install aksys and peak onto that partition.

You then also have a portable instal of osx with all your favorite stuff on.

Leopard has pretty much broken every useful application any actually uses..... it's junk in my opinion. I'm staying as far away from it as I possibly can, until I absolutely have to update for one reason or another.

I haven't used leopard yet, now I'm more hesitant cause of this.
I was told you could run AkSys as a PPC app on leopard...

Also, you mean you can't drag and drop WAV's from your desktop into 4000's memory and vice versa?

Truthfully I haven't been using it that much. When I do use aksys I can see my samples and drag them ONLY to the mac hard drive. From there I can drag from the HD to peak or live. I can't get the sample back into the 4000 thru aksys though. If anybody knows a work around please let it be known. I upgraded to 10.5.2, so that might be a reason it's not working also. I'm planning on buying an external HD and installing 10.4 (for pro tools also) but I heard 10.4 doesn't work well at all on these new mac pros. I may just be assed out in terms of aksys. Pro tools will eventually update their le systems. How does the 5000 send samples into the computer. I know thru usb but does it have a similar type program? Just wondering

No. The 5000 does it the same way the 1k and the 2.5k do. Basically connect the USB cable, and you can see the contents of the internal hard drive/CF on your computer's desktop. No direct to memory functionality.

So before you upgraded to 10.5.2, which problems did you have?

AkSys is currently running as a PPC program, or no?

aksys for me functions perfectly on 10.3.9 on my powerbook 1.33ghz
and on 10.4.11 on my intel macbook. send samples to and from peak etc.

yes and Ive already told them to alpha and co
search for vista/leopard topic and go to near the end of the thread. its all there. there i also said aksys is running as a ppc app and you did respond to that, if im correctly

but hey Im easy so Ill tell you again

you can drag from osx10.5 to the mpc
you can drag single files from the mpc to osx
you cant, however drag multiple files from the mpc to osx. workaround:
select multiple files or folder and choose "save to computer"

and some stuff simply wont work, like putting in weird characters like ( or - or something, whcih used to be possible in 10.4 and winXP.

I havent used peak as a sample editor in aksys, though. I find it easier to just use my gigantic desktop to drag/drop

I did found something rather annoying with peak.. If you open and save a wav file with peak, the mpc reads it again. But if you save the wav file as another file (no re-save, but a new save) with peak, then if you drag it to the mpc, the mpc will give an error. Maybe this is related to your problem. Maybe there is a (save) setting in Peak which isnt compatible with the MPC

How is Peak 6 by the way?
