Thru May 22, CompUSA has a sale on the PNY 256MB PC133 notebook memory for $70 with a $20 instant rebate and a $20 mail-in rebate making the grand total $30! I just picked it up after work today at my local CompUSA and installed it when I got home. It just passed the memory test!

I forget  what does the extra ram do?

Not sure what you mean by jitters. Are you asking if the samples stutter? I haven't loaded the memory full yet. I did run the four-pass memory test and it completed all four passes. It's the same memory that was mentioned in the memory discussion thread here. I'll try to load it to the max tonight :)

theres a catch to it ,i got the 128mb of this brand and put it in my mpc 1000 and it only show up half the memory 64mb ,so you have to buy the 256mb for it to show up 128mb. :)

Ha, I didn't see this thread until last night, missed out on the rebate!

Beatmaker: The half-RAM thing has been known. Thanks for the heads up anyways. But make sure you use the search function here to look up old posts, save you a lot of energy. 64MB should be more than enough though.

Been usin' the memory for a week now -- no strange side-effects. Everything works great. And I loaded it to the max with samples!

Peace Out \/
