Yep.

People allegedly managed to get this one to run in their XL:

for $85. But without warranty that it really works, and doesn't come with a 1GB card either. Probably have to do some cable work as well.

these times i wonder if i could buy a 2500 i got a mpc 2000xl but im tired about those lack of features no usb,zip drive mute off only 2 pad by pad, timestrech is **** and it takes so much time to sample all the drums load them etc...

So if any 2500 users can tell me if they are actually happy with their new mp or just disapointed,if there are any sound diference (the mpc 2000xl sounds out just like it sounds in )

Thanks a lot!

Doesn't really look like anyone answered your question.....

The MPC 2500 is a hundred times better than the 2000XL. It doesn't matter if you use the Akai or JJ OS...it is far superior to the XL and has more than 2 dozen improved features. It has been detailed in plenty of threads. Sampling and sample editing on the XL is like going back to rubbing two sticks together to start a fire after using the MPC 2500.

i just traded my 2000xl for a 2500.

i was considering a 3k or a 2500, and went for for the 2500. the USB feature is pretty important for me since i do a lot of stuff on my mac. i hope my decision wasnt a mistake since a lot of people here seem say negative things about the 2500. i would have liked the 3000 but messing around with zips and no visual sample editing is not really for me.
