Trying to find a certain kick (question for all the break...

Addicts)

Ok, I have a quite large vinyl collection with some nice and well known breaks like lee dorsey - get outta my life woman, deodato - september 13, Funky President and so on.

But I can't find any kick that has this 'thump' sound.

This track has been made on the sp-303, so there isn't a lot of eq-ing going on. Any Ideas on artist and breaks that I should look for?

make em sound like you want..i doesnt have to sound like u want on the record

just because it's made on a 303 doesn't mean there hasn't been any eq'ing. i do the majority of my sound tweaking/ eq'ing/ compression before the sample even gets to my mpc. i like it to be ready to go when i sample it so i can keep moving and not have a lot of clutter in the mpc. before you actually sample, spend the time to make it sound right. you are the one that has to make that kick thump, no one can do it for you.

try TOM SCOTT- NSEAKING IN THE BACKDOOR thats my favorite break and the kick is so dope and bassy, if you decay it you can change the sound on it.
