What version Akys with newest version of Leopard?

I think the only possible way to figure out if your mac is compatibl with tiger is to check its release and check which tiger version it initially shipped with. there is an application called Mactracker (or something) which could help you with this. I think mine initially shipped with 10.4.10, so anything below that wont work.

I just bought this mac pro so it had 10.5.1 on it. As soon as I hooked it up to the net it checked for an update by itself and I let it install to 10.5.2. I was stupid in not checking if aksys had problems with it or not. When I was using aksys before I had an old dell so I haven't tried to run windows on this mac yet or anything. I'm not really computer savy at all. When you say ppc u mean power pc? And how would I go about setting up the mac to run how your getting aksys to run?

I'm still on the fence.
I'm on a PC, and for the last 8 weeks, I've been trying to figure out if copping a new harpertown MAC PRO with leopard pre-installed, to run TDM, Serato via 57SSL, Peak, and AkSys is the right move.

Or if I should buy an used Mac Pro, and run tiger for all that^

So I'm not running AkSys on 10.5.1.

Buy a USB 250 zip drive. You can hook it up to the Mac, save your files. Then hook it up to the 4000, and load your files. I do it and it works great.

Update- aksys is working fine. I don't know what happened but its working fine now. I installed pro tools le since then, I don't know if that had something to do with it. Leopard 10.5.2 and pro tools (003) are also working. Some people are having issues with it or are shook to cop the new mac pro but I'm having success with aksys and pro tools. Just some FYI

10.5 & ak.sys seem to work OK here.....It's not as organized as with a PC, but sample editing and transfer to and from work fine on my imac. Pro tools 7.4 as the sample editor....
