Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

Sorry I'm a total noob but I'm glad I found these forums. Here's the thing. I won't record with a computer. I use mainly live instruments and occasionally sample and loop stuff. I want to use the MPC to sequence beats as I play them off a keyboard or grab them off vinyl.

I saw a youtube thing where this guy said that you can't get samples onto a mpc500 without a computer to load them. Is that true?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

yo,

no.

you can plug a turntable, guitar, keyboard, whatever into the inputs, hit record and sampe, then chop in the 500 and use it straight...or export to your computer if you wanna chop vizually!
