I am a rookie. I am so ignorant as to how to hook my MPC up with my computer it's not even funny. One person suggested to me that i should connect the stereo outs to the mic jack in my pc, problem is, my PC only has a usb mic jack. How the heck can i connect this thing directly to the PC? My main objective is to connect it so i can record into Cool Edit Pro. Is that even possible or do i need to get some kind of 3rd party to connect the 2 together? any help is much appreciated. I have alot of good ideas for beat making, but unfortunatley, my techy knowledge is way too basic hahah.

THANKS!

you are going to need a good audio interface for your pc.

there are three types:

usb, firewire and pci audio interfaces.

there are many variations with prices from cheap and affordable, to ball bustingly expensive.

research. see what shyt you need, go online and find the one thats right for you. i suggest going on here:

i use an m-audio 2496 pci interface and they are excellent. drivers are very stable and the build quality is great, they aren't the most expensive pice of kit to buy either.

i will buy another with more ins and outs in the near future.

good luck.
