legacy collection vs atmosphere

i was wondering what the best vst to get if i wanted to find that stringed instrument on the silent hill movie, its at the last few seconds of this trailer of silent hill at youtube. http://youtube.com/watch?v=f5mT5LhbRJw

i remember playing with the korg legacy collection digital edition demo and it had a sound similar to that, but thats the only sound i remember. does anyone know what instrument this is? im also looking for something with dark sounding pianos or eerie sounding pads, but i also want it to be useful for hip hop. i was looking at spectrasonics atmosphere vst, but i dont think it would be too usefull for anything other than sound design for movies.
im also leaning more towards the korg because of the asian instruments, and i have heard good things about its horn section also. if im not mistaken, they sampled each note from a horn (as far as it could go) for each note instead of just sampling one octive (from c3 to c4) as they usually do ( yamaha s-90s) are a good example of this. anyone know any other vsts that do this?

is there any other software i should be looking at besides the korg legacy edition or atmosphere?

any one ever used theese vsts? thoughts about it? opinions? suggestions?
any mp3 clips i could hear?

mandolin played with a little spanish flare i think?

i dunno much about vst's but i use motu ethno but it doesnt have pads it all about instruments from around the world

for hardware you could go with a korg micro x that has mandolin (i kno cuz i have one) and all types of pads

went through all of the games numerous times
read about the cell phone games
bought every comic
seen the movie

i just about own or read everything silent hill so yea i know a lot about it.

thats dope! i didnt know they had comics too! ive only played the 3rd game, i want them to drop a new one somtime for 360! they dont have any good survival horror games for that shit!

yea the only good horror game for the 360 is Condemned 1 & 2 they have the zombie game dead rising (which i love) but its not scary.

yea i played them all
1-4, origins (now on ps2)

if i had to pick one (which i couldnt) it would be 2 as my fave although 4 comes at a close 2nd

and 1 & 3 tie into each other while origins is kinda a prequal to 1.

the comics are all seperate stories and the movie kinda takes after 1 with a female protagoinst instead of a male one.

im waiting for 5 and resident evil 5

ive played a sht ton of horror games but silent hill is def my all time fave. pick up the others (even the ps one game) you wont be dissapointed

yes! i dindt know they came out with origins? when did that drop, ive never heard of it, is it newer than the 4th, i think it was called the red room or somehting? ive been dying to play a survivial horror game on the 360, i wasnt really feeling the demo to condemned, but i only played it for a few minutes and i got lost so thats probably why, but i just seen condmened two out also. dead rising is a sick game too, do you have xbox live? add me on that shit!

man i couldnt get into fear i tried but i dunno the character ai was ehhh (well its that way too on condemned haha) but i wasnt too scared. ill add you on

origins came out after the 4th (called silent hill the room). now that i think of it the only silent hill i havent played yet was 2 for xbox (i do own the ps2 version) they put an extra episode where you play the girl prior to or during the main portion of the game (they did put this section on the greatest hits version of ps2 which i dont own ) yea im nutty about silent hill

and dead rising i think is the only game i want to get all achievement points just because its ridiciouls to get (i think im in the upper 600's) but ive seen people in the 800's never a perfect game though. but i just cant convience myself to pick it up again.
