The Shift button

how do i use it? i haven't really found a way to use it other than look to what pad i hit last when i do step edit shift+left/right cursor.

A few other ones (got these from searching the ebook and manual pdfs, not hard to do...):

Entering capitals when renaming things.
Shift and undo to delete things in step edit.
Updating the OS.
Shift and playstart to start at the beginning of a sequence regardless of the loop section
While playing, shift and play starts playback from the beginning of a sequence
For selecting multiple solo tracks (according to the manual, not tried this)
In Track mute mode, when you select Track solo mode while holding the SHIFT button, the status of all tracks set to mute off become "solo
on", and all tracks set to mute on become "solo off". This means that even if you change the mode from Track mute to Track solo, playback
tracks are not changed.

Any more? I am sure AKAI have hidden more functions that they haven't thought to tell us about! :D

thanks alot bro , and yah im pretty sure akai got some secrets with this whole shift thing , imagine pressing shift+LED switch opens up something , nah jp lol
