Turntable for sampling - Best for the money

I want to start sampling records into the mpc and I'm not sure which turntable would be the best.  If I do it, do I have to get a mixer too?  I don't plan on mixing or scratching, just gonna use it for sampling only.  Thanks

stanton str8-100 or st-100 digital turntable it has both line and digital i/o. You won't need a mixer to preamp the signal. If you get an analog/line only turntable you'll need a dj mixer to preamp. So, with the aforementioned turntables you can plug the turntable directly into your Mpc. I got mine for 250 at etronics.com but it seems as if they are out of stock. One

What really matters is the cartridge and needle you use. Stantons are great for scratching but I use Ortofon concordes when I'm at a club.
And make sure your turntable is grounded!!!!!!!!

Yeah those stantons got a preamp so you can plug them directly into your mpc but you probably will want an EQ also so you can eq your samples to suit your taste.

Got the Stanton Str8-80. It's pretty good. I run it thru a mixer to EQ. The digital out is great for recording into my computer. They sell for $200 new.

~I just ordered the Stanton str8-80 from american musical should get it 2morrow or sometime next week hopefully 2morrow tho! :wink: I hope its worth it! :P

yeah youll be straight wit that,maybe upgrade yur needle,they sell phono pre amps on ebay too for 15 bucks

It has digital and line level out. I don't use a preamp, but if you think the sound is better with one, you can set the Str8-80 to phono out too.

Ditto that on the cartridge. One of them (either the X or B) doesn't come with one at all!

~I just got my Stanton str8-80 from american musical today! :shock: I ordered it Monday ground! :P I will give it a test in a few hrs! :wink:

~The Stanton str8-80's have the line/phono feature as well I just received them from american musical heavy as f$ck too lmao! :wink:
