Resampling at 0DB

So i keep hearing from different people that you should re sample your playback music at 0DB for maximum loudness, but every time i put it at 0DB from the global level pad (where the master volume is at) it just distorts like theres no tomorrow, anybody know why its doing this?

you got everything turned up too loud/master compressor's gain is too high!

if you're using a normalized sample with the filter on don't forget to set the filter input at -6 or -12 to avoid distortion

yeah i turned off the master eq and compressor but now it sounds weak, i also turned down the sample to -6 but its too quiet. It sounds perfect when i play it normally but then i resample it it gets so much lower. What are some other methods of getting the same loudness, i already tried usb to my DAW and im not goin that route haha??

Yes i've always found this very strange that the MPC can clip when resampling, and also when recording via SPDIF. Its all digital, and isn't clipping when you listen so why should it clip at 0dB. especially recording internally?

And i've noticed that the filters distorting internally is a seperate problem, you can hear that on playback and adjust the filter pad to correct it.
