help! Help!

I purchase the last 4000 on zzounds a couple of weeks ago and still can't get the cd drive to work, its won't play or record... Open unit and all connection are fine.. I'm just stuck right now... Any info please[/b]

the CD player transport controls are accessed in [RECORD] mode...

are you saying you try those and they don't work?

If your drive is just plain broken, you need to take it to a repair shop.

Tried everything.... I guess repair shop is the way to go

If this happened to me with a new MPC I would do 2 things, probably in this order.

1. Call ZZounds and have them ship you a new one. You should still be in the Return Window.

2. Call Akai and have them replace it at THEIR expense.

If I bought this used, I would just pull out the CD-RW and replace it with a
CD-RW/DVD-ROM
