At first it didnt do much for me, but here are some features I have really benefitted from.

Assigning channels to L and R rather than just to stereo
    Downsampling to lower bit rates
    Naming files, sounds etc
Stereo Editing, Mono Channel removing etc

I am sure there are others i use, but there is one that has changed that has really messed up my work flow and live performances.

Soloing tracks!! before remaining samples kept playing, now they are CUT the sec i press Solo... i know have to go to grid mode in order to get that same effect i want when i Solo..

What are your thoughts about this?

Theres a setting to change that behaviour. Open the window on the track mute screen.

alt loop, global editing, fluid sample editing w/multiple chops, new folder bug removal!, qlink to track. These features have helped me immensely.

overhauled my entire style/sound of sequencing
speeding me up with workflow enhancements, slowing me down with tons more awesome parameters

The other day I was just chilling minding my business and next thing I know JJOS is like "yo i'm going to get some beer you want anything?" I was like "**** yeah, get me a twelve pack" like 20 minutes later he's back with a twelve of newcastle and some local organic hippie shit for himself and also a pack of king size wraps. I popped a beer and next thing I know dukes is rolling biggest L i ever seen. shit was like thumb thick and longer than a fresh pencil. we blazed that shit then he tells me "yo son i just chopped up these samples check this out" turns out he had gone through my crate of fresh, unsampled wax, the night before and chopped up some ill loops and breaks for me. he hooked himself up to my stereo wirelessly (WTF?!) i was like "yo whend u get blue tooth and shit" he's like "don't sweat it playa" and starts playin some shit. he must have put some shit inthat L cos I was seein colors and shit. anyways he was on point with the chops so i fired up a record with some open drums hits on the turntable and sampledthat shit, chopped up em up, he threw on a subtle LPF for me then i banged that shit out made like 10 ill beats. Next thing I know JJOS was **** makin me a sandwhich and shit which was dope because my **** carpal tunnel was actin up and shit. I was like "yo JJ, i didn't have any cheese in that fridge where the **** you get this cheese from in this sandwhich homie?" he was like "yo i scooped it at the store when i got the beer". OH SHIT. dude is on point. I was like yo man let's go to the club to find some girls and he's like "way ahead of you" i look over and **** is on the window sill playin some bangers out the window for the girls walkin by. next thing i know some fly honeys come up to the spot to kick it, and i'll be damned, me and JJOS ran train on them ladies all night long. I was like "Yo JJOS gets down".

the next day i was kind of hung over because i was taking shots with them fly girls all nights long but JJ made some banging breakfast and hooked me up with some coffee and shit. i remembered it was tuesday and that i had to go visit my grandmoms and shit. i was not looking forward to it, but JJOS was like yo i'll tag along. i was like alright dude but we ain't gonna be smokin' nothing or drinkin any alcohol when we're over there, you sure you're up for it. and he just said he'd ride wit me and he understands and that he felt good about visiting old people. i was like "you a crazy **** bastard but lets roll" i tried to start my car, but the shit wouldn't start. i was like "what the **** i just put a new transmission in this ****". JJOS was like "yo here's a couple bucks for the bus and somethin to drink, you go visit your granmoms and i'll stay here and take a look at this transmission". i was like "aight coo" so i went on my way. when i got back JJOS was loungin choppin up some more samples and he's like "yo i fixed your car it wsa just vapor lock" i was like "you clever ****".

So yeah, JJOS has done quite a lot for me. I'm very grateful for it.

i definitely remember that bull sht....!

oh and i can't beleive i didn't mention the most important function of all to me....

tighter sequencing!

i swear on my life, recording stuff unquantized on the JJ os seems WAY more accurate than on the akai os. on the old akai os there were so many times that i recorded something perfectly in time with the metronome, but then on playback i would notice the end of the sequence would be off a bit and not loop correctly. used to drive me crazy!!!

JJ seemed to fix that issue, along with a million others...!

respect to those who've stuck by their mpc1000s and 2500s from the beginning. so-so akai os, bad pads, etc.

i wouldn't have bought mine without jj. haven't used cubase in months for writing new songs except to record songs from the mpc.

being able to copy and paste control changes in midi track super nice

JJ has changed the way I approach life. I no longer need face to face interaction with people. I rather spend all my time here with my real family...helping improving the JJ OS. I don't pay my girl any attention anymore.

There are over a dozen features that I wanted that are now included in the JJ OS!

from the very start of using the free version, it's always been grid edit for me. i am on grid edit more than i'm in any other screen. when i for instance go to guitar center or a music store and play around with a mpc, i just by muscle memory...go mode+pad 15. i think grid edit alone makes the jj os worth it.

but other than grid edit.

Global Program Editor.
Q-Real Grid Edit
the list goes on and on...
